About HAMS ICU
ICU is a special unit at HAMS where sick patients or patients who we anticipate to become sick are admitted and managed appropriately. These sick patients might need Organ support in various forms like Oxygen delivery ( via devices like Masks, HFNC devices, ventilators, etc.), medications to increase BP through a catheter in the neck vein, dialysis, pacemaker, and many more. Patients who are admitted to ICU are specially cared for by intensivists, trained critical care nurses, and other team members of ICU.
Since these patients are quite unwell, they need to go through multiple blood tests and imaging (CT, MRI, ECHO, or USG) during their stay in the ICU. The important part of patient care in ICU is Multi-disciplinary Consultations (Cardiology, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, and many more). Patient safety and infection prevention & control is equally important and is taken care of by our quality control o & control team.
