Dr. Bigyan Bhandari completed his medical school from Dhaka University in 2004 and MS Orthopedics from Kathmandu University in 2011. He worked as a registrar at B&B Hospital and Hospital and Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children (HRDC) in 2012 after completing his masters from the same institution. He worked as a lecturer at Dhulikhel Hospital (Kathmandu University Hospital) for 15 months before joining Grande International Hospital. He worked as a consultant orthopedic surgeon at Grande International Hospital,Dhapasi, Kathmandu from 9th October 2013 to 20th may 2018. Currently, he is working as a Consultant Orthopedic and Spine surgeon at Hospital for advanced medicine and surgery (HAMS) at Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu. He has special interest in Spine surgery and Pediatric Orthopedic surgery besides general orthopedics.

He did AO spine fellowship from Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital, Lahore Pakistan, in 2015 which is a charitable hospital catering treatment to the underprivileged. Besides that, he has done two short term spine fellowship from Sarawak General Hospital, Malaysia and Seoul’s St’Mary’s hospital under Catholic university South Korea in 2016. He has also done training in Mass casualty situation and trauma management fromRambam Hospital, Haifa, Israel.  He has done principal and advanced course in Spine surgery organized by AO Spine International, which is a leading body in spine surgery worldwide. He has participated and presented paper in spine conferences at home and abroad.

He is a life time member of Nepal Orthopedic Association and Nepal Medical Association. He is affiliated to AO spine international and Asia Pacific Orthopedic Association.

He lives in Baneshwor with his family and has keen interest in travelling, cycling and swimming.
